Dahab (Egyptian Arabic: دهب, IPA: [ˈdæhæb], “gold”) is a small Bedouin fishing village, centrally located in the South Sinai,with an ancient heritage dating back to the Nabateens.
Dahab is now considered to be one of Sinai’s most treasured diving destinations, SCUBA diving, Freediving and Snorkeling are popular activities, with many reefs immediately adjacent to waterfront properties.
It is world-renowned for its Windsurfing, Kitesurfing. Reliable winds provide superb flat-water conditions inside Dahab’s sand spit. Further away from shore, wavy conditions couple with strong winds to provide formidable conditions for keen Windsurfers.

Being of religious importance to Muslims, Christians and Jews visit The Monastery of St Katherine the oldest working monastery in the world, that has been a working monastery from its creation in the 4th century to the present day. It holds one of the most religiously and historically significant libraries in all the world, second only to that of the Vatican.
